The Philosophy
O-line's focus is to recognize and utilize local and internationally acknowledged technical resources through networking relationships.
Technical competence
A team of highly competent engineering and technical staff, who understand the nature of support systems in terms of specific structural support requirements, are available. Specific disciplines include structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering, corrosion protection and project management.
Technical facilities
These include CAD, stereo lithography, and structural analysis. In-house test bed for load bearing products, and a library with a comprehensive selection of national and international specifications, periodicals and learning resources.
A selection of specification resources are:
- SABS / ISO; British Standards; ASTM; Australian Standards; NEMA; AWS; and Manufacturers specifications i.e. Courtaulds (Interpon), Ferro, ISCOR, JCI & Columbus
System and process capability
Tolerance specifications have been developed from recognized local and international specifications (where available) or developed internally (where not available). Our approach to system and process capability is:
"The ability of a system (consisting of all inputs, methods, knowledge, skills, procedures, techniques, materials, technology, machinery and outputs, etc.) to consistently produce an expected result to a minimal degree of variability".
Load carrying capability of load bearing products
- Load test standard developed internally.
- Installation procedures and methods developed. Practical and test result data ensuring safety
and predicted deflection. Tested in the international arena.
- Suppliers that support O-line and include representation from most major business players in
South Africa, who manufacture in line with internationally recognized specifications.
- Loading figures on all load carrying products.
